Hi and welcome to All God’s Women. I’m Sharon Wilharm, your host, and it’s day 6 of National Podcast Post Month.
Today we continue in 1 Samuel 18, looking at another group of women who were used in a mighty way, but not in the way anyone expected.
One day as David was returning home from defeating Philistines, the women in the cities gathered in the streets, singing and dancing with tabrets or tambourines and other musical instruments. They danced around singing, “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.”
I’m sure they meant well. They were celebrating David’s successes. But their well meaning words cut to the heart of Saul. From that day on, Saul became an enemy of David, determined to keep him from taking over the throne.
